Athletics Track Survey & Measurement Reporting
Survey is the only objective evidence that a facility actually complies. We measure with robotic total station infrastructure and turn the result into a tolerance-referenced report.
Survey scope
- Lane lengths and lane widths, including the measurement offset from the inner kerb
- Bend radii, single- and double-radius geometry checks
- Lateral and longitudinal gradient and level control
- Start and finish line positions, stagger accuracy
- Position, sector angle and distance checks for jump and throw facilities
- Surface evenness measurement points and point cloud records
When a survey is needed
Survey is not only for certification — it is how risk is caught early:
- Before construction: agreement between existing ground levels and the design.
- Before surfacing: acceptance of asphalt or concrete base levels and gradients.
- Before marking: verification that the geometry can actually be built.
- After marking: control survey and handover report.
- For certification: documentation in World Athletics measurement report format.
- In disputes: independent third-party survey and technical opinion.
What the report contains
The report is not a raw list of readings; it is a document you can decide on. It covers method and equipment records, reference system, measured values, comparison against standard tolerances, a compliant / non-compliant assessment, a deviation map and remedial options. On request, output follows the World Athletics Measurement Report templates.

Does the facility need to be empty?
The areas being measured must be clear of training or competition. The programme can be planned around the facility calendar.
What if the survey comes back non-compliant?
Deviations are recorded and remedial options are ranked technically. The goal is not to force a certificate through, but to bring the facility to standard.
Can I buy survey only?
Yes. Survey and reporting are available independently of line marking; independent control survey is a frequent scope for us.
